Spark's Mission is to enrich the lives of young learners in the Rochester area by creating shared, interactive experiences that engage people of all ages in the joy of play, the power of learning, and a sense of community.

Spark offers people of all ages the opportunity to learn about the world, each other and local environments through hands-on, inquiry-based exploration and play.
We invite visitors to interact with our exhibits, ask questions and let their imaginations run wild. The goal is to enjoy the journey of learning – to spark imagination and instill a life-long love of exploration and discovery.
The Rochester community needs to retain and attract new families to our area to maintain and grow our vibrant economy. We need Spark to be here as important asset to attract families. Rochester and Olmsted County are routinely recognized for the quality of life that exists in our area and as one of the best places in the country to raise a family. Indeed, there are many things that we can point to with pride that contribute to this recognition such as our schools, a robust economy, and recreational opportunities. However, there is a gap in our area of spaces and opportunities for families to learn and grow together while discovering more about the community and themselves
