SPARKAMP Assistant

Part-time - limited time employment

SPARKAMP Assistants will ensure that campers experience a positive learning environment while in the classroom and while in our exhibits. SPARKAMP Assistants will assist the Camp Leaders in facilitating programming during camp.

 

SPARKAMP assistants must be available during the following dates between the times of 8:30am and 5:00pm:

June 26 - 29

July 10 - 13

July 17 - 20

July 24 - 27

July 31 - Aug 3

 

SPARKAMP Assistants should also be available most or many Saturday’s July 8th - August 12th for community programming from 9am - 12pm.

Program Facilitator

Programs are a vital part of what we do here at SPARK. Through programming, both in the museum and out in the community, we are able to reach over 80,000 people a year. 

SPARK’s Program Facilitators are responsible for preparing, setting up, and implementing or leading programs and activities developed by our Education and Community Engagement Coordinator both in SPARK’s programming spaces and at various community partnership events. 
 

Individuals interested in the position should have a positive, professional attitude, good work ethic, the ability to work independently, and should be comfortable interacting with both children and adult caregivers.  This position requires a minimum of 20 hours a week (maximum 35 hours)  including at least 1 weekend day and a minimum six month commitment to SPARK. Program Facilitator Responsibilities: - Work with Education and Programming Coordinator to plan, schedule, and implement appropriate programs and activities - Facilitate programs and activities happening at SPARK in the Imagination Station, Maker Space, SPARK Park, or other areas - Facilitate programs for after hours events such as Community Access Events (Family Nights), Field Trips and other events in the community - Coordinate with volunteers who provide programs at SPARK or assist with SPARK organized programs - Help set up necessary spaces for incoming programs (yoga, dance, etc) - Ensure supplies are well stocked and prepped for upcoming activities, keep supplies and materials organized and programming rooms clean Requirements: - Minimum of 20 hours a week including weekends as needed - Positive, professional attitude while representing SPARK to the community - PF should be comfortable working with adult caregivers and children, leading or teaching a project when necessary - Six-month commitment to SPARK Scheduling: - Most work hours will be between 8:45 AM - 5 PM; occasional programming will occur between 5 - 7 PM each month during after hours events. - Days of the week worked will vary; Program Facilitators will be scheduled between Tuesday - Sunday

SPARKOLOGIST
*Our Sparkologist team is currently fully staffed, but we are always taking applications and would love to know if you have interest in joining the SPARK team!

Part-time (Weekend and weekday museum floor positions available)

SPARK's Sparkologists are responsible for making guests and members feel welcome and safe in all exhibit spaces. Duties include interacting with guests/members and addressing any visitor questions or concerns, helping with the front desk point-of-sale system, assisting birthday party guests, monitoring exhibits for safe play and tidiness, and assisting all staff in keeping the museum clean and sanitized. The ideal Sparkologist is outgoing, responsible, and enjoys a fast-paced environment full of children and their adults.
