Join us for the 10th Annual Great Cardboard Sled Race on Saturday, February 11 at the Rochester Golf and Country Club.

About

We are excited to celebrate The Great Cardboard Sled Race 10 year anniversary. This event will take place on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the Rochester Golf and Country Club. We welcome around 40-50 sleds that children and families construct using cardboard, glue, tape, decorations, and maybe a little wax on the bottom (but don't tell). Trophies are awarded for Fastest Sled, Furthest Distance, and Best Design in each race. Families enjoy cookies, brownies, hot cocoa and coffee throughout the day. This year will be bigger than ever and we will have igloos, firepits, and prizes!

 Events of the Day!

 10:45 - 11:15 AM : Check-In, must be pre-registered

11:15 AM : Racing begins  (single first, then team) 

11:30 - 1:30 PM : Light refreshments in the Wingfoot Ballroom will be available

There will be firepits from 11:00 AM - 1:30 PM on the lower patio!

Trophies
Prizes will be awarded for Fastest Sled, Furthest Distance, and Best Design in each race and announced at the end of the races.

Individual Child Sled: $25

Team Sled: $25 (up to three children riders)
*Each sled can only be entered in one race.

Do’s

• Create your sled at home and bring it with you the day of the race

• Use only corrugated cardboard as your main construction material

• Use tape, glue, zip ties, paint and glitter to construct your sled

• Bring a helmet! All riders must wear a helmet to race!

Don'ts

• You may NOT use actual sleds, skis, saucers etc to create your sled

• You may NOT use plastic, metal, or any hard materials other than cardboard in the creation of your sled

• Do not have any sharp points on your sled that may injure you or other racers
