Whether your child is a future author, scientist, actor or journalist we have the perfect summer camp for them to explore their favorite activities and interests through hands on creative STEAM programming! Spark summer camps feature engaging curriculum lead by experienced and knowledgeable instructors from the Rochester community. We’ve partnered with various organizations to bring an exciting series of summer camps to Spark for your children to learn, play and grow!

The Great Book Adventure

Taught by Spark Executive Director Jennifer Staley

$120 per camper, includes camp t-shirt (max 12 campers)

Campers will spend each morning diving into a theme based on the book that leads us through reading the book in different languages, songs, crafts, and fun with our friends. Each camper goes home with their very own copy of the day’s book.

Spark Zoo Camp

Taught by Spark Program Leaders and community volunteers

Lions and Tigers and Bears...Oh My! Campers will spend their time learning about animals they could find at the zoo. We will explore zoo themed crafts, play zoo charades, make puppets, and more all while learning about our favorite animals.

Magic Tree House Exploration

For the book lover. Campers will spend the day with Magic Tree House Book that leads us through reading, snacks, songs, crafts, and fun with our friends. Each camper takes home a copy of each book. All levels of readers welcome for this camp

For kids with BIG imaginations. Campers will read and discuss the book and storyline, select their roles, build a set, make playbills, and perform their play on the final day of camp for their family and guests. Performance will be at 3PM. 

4-H A to Z Camp at Spark!

From aerospace and crafts to gardening and wildlife, 4-H has something for everyone! Come spend the week with us as we explore what 4-H is and what it has to offer. You won’t want to miss this action-packed week filled with crafts, games, and experiments!"

White Space Creative Writing and Logo Design Camp

Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9:00 AM-3:30 PM 

Taught by White Space Branding Agency

$120 per camper, includes camp t-shirt (max 12 campers)

[Morning Session ] If you can talk, you can write! This camp is all about us helping you discovery what inspires you! We are going to be developing your own voice and putting it on paper to create a story of your very own. 

[Afternoon Session ] You see thousands of logo every day. From your toothbrush, to the car you ride in, to the food you eat. Have you ever thought about what goes into creating logos? In this camp, you will learn from professional logo designers on how to make your very own personal logo.

The Magic of Storytelling

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 9:00 AM-3:30 PM

Taught by Kami Sim  

$220 per camper, includes camp t-shirt (max 12 campers)

Join Spark as we dive into Fairytales from around the world. Students will have the chance to play a wide variety of characters while creating short plays. We will work on characterization, storytelling, rhythm and movement, giving students a good theatrical base. No experience is necessary, this class will be fun for all levels. 

ABC 6 Broadcast Camp

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 9:00 AM-3:30 PM

Taught by ABC news and weather staff

$200 per camper, includes camp t-shirt. (max 12 campers)

Learn all the different elements needed in the Journalism industry: Writing Copy, predicting weather patterns, creating graphic elements, on-the -spot communication skills, and more. Campers will develop their own news reel to watch over and again and share with family and friends.
 

Around the World

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 9:00 AM-3:30 PM

Taught by Spark Staff and the Diversity Council of Rochester

$220 per camper, includes camp t-shirt (max 12 campers)

Each day campers will take a deep dive into a different country, learning about their traditions, cultures, food, languages, native animals, and what makes each Country unique. 

 

Monday -Eastern Africa –South Sudan, Somalia, Ethiopia, and Kenya

Tuesday - Southeast Asia –Cambodia, Vietnam, and Thailand

Wednesday - Northern Europe –Norway, Sweden, Finland. 

Thursday - Mexico and Central America

Friday - Southwest Asia (formerly known as the Middle East, which is a term of colonization).  

Intro to Robotics

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 9:00 AM-3:30 PM

Taught by Local Robotics Coach Matt Cada

$220 per camper, includes camp t-shirt (max 12 campers)

Campers will explore their background knowledge about robots and learn the basic components and characteristics of robots through camp discussions and activities.

AGE REQUIREMENTS

Children must be within the age range for each camp before camp begins.

EDUCATORS

Camps are taught by trained and experienced educators.

All SPARK staff have undergone background checks. 

 

SCHEDULING & REFUNDS

Camp space is limited, and registration is handled on a first-come, first-served basis. Parents will receive

an informational packet via email prior to camp. Spark reserves the right to cancel camps that do not

meet minimum enrollment. All camp fees are non-refundable, except in the instance a camp does not

meet minimum enrollment. A $10 per child fee applies when switching camps or dates.

LUNCH

For all day camps (9:00 AM – 3:30 PM) each camper must bring a lunch.

A refrigerator will be available at Spark if needed. Snacks will be provided. 

FREE SWAG

Campers receive a Spark bag along with their camp t-shirt on the first day of camp!

CAMP SAFETY

Our team will continue to monitor government health and safety regulations in 2021, and will adjust classroom sizes, and requirements for face masks and temperature checks prior to camps starting. Our goal is to ensure a safe and fun summer for your camper! We will finalize classroom and check-in procedures in the weeks leading up to your camp and will inform you of the most up-to-date guidelines we will be following prior to your arrival to your first day of camp.
